About Us
NCHHD, or the National Council for Handloom and Handicraft Development, was formerly known as the Council of Handicrafts Development Corporations (COHANDS). NCHHD was established in 1983-84 under the Ministry of Textiles, Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), and serves as the apex body for 30 state and central government handicrafts and handloom development corporations.
What we do
At NCHHD, we work on different activities to uplift and empower artisans working in the Handicrafts and Handlooms industry.
Artisan Clusters
NCHHD works with Ministry of MSME and ground level Implementation Agencies to establish Handicrafts and Handlooms related artisan clusters across India.
Events and Conferences
We organize national level events and conferences to create awareness about traditional Indian crafts and share our effots with others.
Artisan ID Cards
NCHHD Works with ground level agencies to provide all artisans Artisan ID cards in order to make it easy for artisan to avail benefits of various Government run schemes.
